Ruth Mohr, age 95, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died Thursday, July 21, 2011, at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake.

Claretta Ruth was born February 24, 1916, to John and Lottie (Crowe) Pruett in Loogootee, Illinois. Growing up, she attended grade school and graduated from Nemaha High School in 1936.

On November 11, 1936, she was united in marriage to Peter John Mohr in Sioux City, Iowa. This union was blessed with three children: Patricia Ann, Judith Kay, and Cindy Sue.

Ruth was confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Storm Lake in 1946 where she continued to practice her faith throughout her life. Active in many card clubs, she also enjoyed spending time with the friendly neighbors club. Ruth cherished all the times she was able to travel, especially to Illinois. An avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, she was able to see them many times. Gifted at knitting, Ruth also loved to read and work on puzzle books. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish in her memory include her children: Pat (Robert) Peters, of Ankeny, Iowa, Judy Krebs, of Storm Lake, Iowa, and Cindy (Ron) Gillman, of Storm Lake, Iowa; her grandchildren: Stan (Alyson) Peters, of Storm Lake, Iowa, Robin (Warren) Wilkes, of Dallas, Texas, Steve (Kathy) Peters, of Ankeny, Iowa, Shelly Smith, of Chicago, Illinois, Halley (Steve) Lee, of Pierre, South Dakota, Amy (Dave) Fordyce, of Carroll, Iowa, Mitchell (Deborah) Krebs, of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, Sarah Gillman, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Josh (fiancé, Kelsey Wallerstedt) Gillman, of Omaha, Nebraska; her great-grandchildren: Forrest Smith, of Chicago, Illinois, Logan, Tanner, and Kramer Peters, of Ankeny, Iowa, Sydney and Sawyer Lee, of Pierre, South Dakota, Abbey, Jack, and Joe Fordyce, of Carroll, Iowa, and Emma Krebs of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; and many nieces and nephews as well as other extended family and many friends.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Pete; her parents: John and Lottie; her son-in-law, Sidney Krebs; her brother, Howard Pruett; her stepmother, Mary Pruett; and her stepsisters: Genevieve Wedeking; Ruth Mooney; and Nadine Cavanaugh.

Visitation: 5-8:00 p.m. July 24, 2011, at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake, Iowa.
Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. July 25, 2011, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Storm Lake, Iowa.
Interment: July 25, 2011, at the Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery in Storm Lake, Iowa.
