Lois H. Frykberg
March 16, 1917 - November 23, 2004Lois Frykberg passed away at St. Luke's Lutheran Home on Tuesday, November 23, 2004, at the age of 87.
Lois H. Frykberg, the daughter of Henry C. and Mabel Nelson Anderson, was born March 16, 1917, in Albert City. Her childhood years were spent in Albert City where she received her education, graduating from Albert City High School. Following high school, Lois attended Buena Vista College for one year.
Lois married Mauritz Frykberg on February 9, 1938, in Albert City. Following their marriage, they farmed in the Albert City area until 1940 when they moved to Boulder, Colorado. In 1953, Lois and Mauritz purchased a retail variety store in Dows which they operated until 1975. They resided in Storm Lake from 1979 until 1991 when they moved to Spencer. She enjoyed handiwork, golfing and bowling. During her retirement years, Lois and Mauritz especially enjoyed R.V. traveling and camping. Lois resided at Riverview Terrace in Spencer for several years before moving to St. Luke's Lutheran Home in October of 2004.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Mauritz, on November 6, 1993.
She is survived by one son and his wife, Ronald and Wanda Frykberg, of Omaha, Nebraska; two grandchildren, Dru Frykberg, of Ames, and Randall Frykberg, of Roseville, Minnesota; and one sister, Ruth Bean, of Albert City; as well as other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Lois H. Frykberg were held Friday, November 26, 2004, at 10 a.m. at the Warner Chapel of Spencer with Rev. Tom Dettmer and Rev. Deb Mechler officiating. Interment was at the Fairfield Cemetery in Albert City.
