Mark “Rudy” Chapman, age 46, of Sioux Rapids, Iowa, died on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.

Mark Allen Rudolph Chapman, the son of Vernon and Mazaildean (Gosnell) Chapman, was born in Seattle, Washington, on June 29, 1964. Rudy lived his youth on a farm in Utah with his foster parents.

Rudy resided in Spencer, Iowa, for approximately twelve years where he was employed with the Clay County Regional Water Association. For the past five years, however, he enjoyed his employment with Peterson Brothers Construction where he took great pride in his job. He had made his home in Sioux Rapids for the past four and a half years.

Rudy’s special interests included music, playing cards, and spending time socializing with his friends.

His life will be lovingly remembered by his special friend, Tammy Anderson, of Sioux Rapids, Iowa, and his close friends, Greg and Nancy Peterson.

Rudy will be remembered as a “friend to everyone.”

Memorial services will be held Saturday, July 2, 2011, at 1:30 p.m. at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids. A Remembrance and Celebration will begin at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids is in charge of the arrangements.
