Stan Carlson
December 6, 1933 - June 18, 2011Surrounded by his loving family, Stan Carlson, 77, of Bella Vista, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at home on June 18, 2011.
Stan was born in Coleridge, Nebraska, on December 6, 1933. He graduated from Schaller High School, Schaller, in 1953 and attended Commercial Extension Business School in Omaha, Nebraska in 1954. On July 6, 1958, Stan married Marie (Hobart) Carlson. They resided in Storm Lake until they retired and moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas, in 1994.
Stan was employed at Hygrade Foods, IDS, and the Sara Lee Corporation. A member of Ducks Unlimited, Toastmasters, the Moose Lodge and the Elks, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, family camping, bowling, golfing and coin collecting.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Alta Carlson, and his brother, George Carlson.
In addition to Marie, his wife of fifty-one years, he is survived by his children, Gray Carlson (Cindy), Karen Hartman (David), Kathy Burnett (David), Bill Carlson (Terry), and five grandchildren, Elsey, Ethan, Tyler, Grace and Will.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday June 24, 2011, at the First United Methodist Church in Bella Vista, Arkansas. Arrangements are with the Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Arkansas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Stan's name to the First United Methodist Church, 20 Boyce Drive, Bella Vista, Arkansas 72715 or to Habitat for Humanity of Benton County, Inc., 908 SE 21st Street, Bentonville, Arkansas 72712.
