Alta, IowaAlan D. Groth, age 57, of Alta, Iowa, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2011, at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake.
Alan David Groth was born October 29, 1953, in Fonda, Iowa, to Harold and Ruth (Speer) Groth. Alan grew up in Storm Lake and graduated from Storm Lake High School in 1972.
On August 7, 2003, Alan married Lori Boetel in Sturgis, South Dakota.
Alan worked as a farmer and truck driver. He cherished all the times he was able to spend riding his motorcycle. Alan will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish in his memory include his wife, Lori; his son, Tyler Groth; his brothers: Ronald and Kenny Groth; his step-children: Brooke (Nathan) Francis, Becky (Marty) McDonald, and Liz (Sgt. Nate) Verslues; his grandchildren: Matthew, Makel, Riley, Zeke, Anthony, Brittney, Sarah, Brittney, and Tayler; his sister-in-law, Alea (Jamie) Klatt; his nephew, Dr. Shawn (Ashley) Groth; and his niece, Erin (Steve) Cohler; as well as extended family and many friends.
Alan was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Ruth.
Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m. June 29, 2011, at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake, Iowa.
