February 2, 1947 - August 3, 2004Teresa Stoner, age 57, of Peterson, died Tuesday, August 3, 2004, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.
Teresa Marie Andersen was born February 2, 1947, in Wayne, Nebraska, to Sheldon R. and Ilene (Salmon) Andersen. She spent her childhood in her parents' Webb home. Teresa attended grade school in Webb before graduating from South Clay High School with the Class of 1965.
On August 23, 1965, Teresa married Rodney Wayne Stoner at Sioux Rapids. Their marriage was blessed with three children: Cal, Matt and April. Teresa was a loving wife, devoted mother and treasured grandmother, who made a warm and comfortable home for the family she cherished.
After raising her family, Teresa found more time to enjoy her hobbies, which included cooking, sewing, painting and doll-making. She began painting in 1984, taking classes from area artists. She especially liked wildlife and flowers as the subjects of her work. She also worked at Sioux Lumber in Sioux Rapids. Teresa enjoyed her community and loved to spend time with her family, especially with her beloved grandchildren.
Left to cherish Teresa's memory are her three children: Cal Stoner, and his wife, Diane, of Kennard, Nebraska, Matt Stoner, and his wife, Melinda, of Blair, Nebraska, and April Stoner-Dose, and her husband, Jeremy, of Fort Polk, Louisiana; her grandchildren: Hannah and Zach Stoner, of Kennard, Nebraska, Colton and Dalton Stoner, of Blair, Nebraska, and Kyler Dose, of Fort Polk, Louisiana; her brother, Sheldon James Andersen, and his wife, Gloria, of Cherokee; and many other relatives and a host of friends.
Preceding Teresa in death were her parents and her husband, Rodney.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Teresa was offered Saturday, August 7, 2004, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Sioux Rapids with Reverend John Kane officiating.
