Dennis Messerschmitt
May 20, 1949 - August 17, 2004Dennis Messerschmitt, age 55, from Alpha Junction, Arizona, formerly of Pocahontas and Storm Lake, passed away in Arizona on August 17, 2004.
He was born to Leonard and Adeline Messerschmitt on May 20, 1949, in Sioux Rapids.
After spending eight years in the Army, he worked as a security officer for Anderson Security offices in Arizona beginning in 2003.
He loved hunting, fishing and telling stories about the Army.
Everyone said that when he smiled his face would have a glow to it.
He is survived by his wife Theresa; his son, 1st Lt. Matthew Messerschmidt; three grandchildren, two sisters, Joyce Roling of Storm Lake and Illa McClurg of Amerillo, Texas; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Adeline Messerschmidt; two brother-in-laws, Marvin Roling and Ralph McClurg; and a nephew, Dusty Roling.
Funeral services for Dennis Messerschmitt were held in Sioux Rapids at the Lone Tree Cemetery on Tuesday, August 24, 2004, with military honors.
