August 5, 1907 - March 21, 1994Earl Lichtenberg, 86, died March 21, 1994, at Buena Vista County Hospital in Storm Lake. Funeral services were Friday, March 25, 1994, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Alta with burial in Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery in Storm Lake.
Earl Wilhelm Ludwig Lichtenberg was born August 5, 1907, in Buena Vista County to Wilhelm C. and Louise (Huseman) Lichtenberg. He was baptised August 18, 1907, in St. John's Lutheran Church in Hanover and attended the parochial school there through the eighth grade. On June 11, 1939, he was united in marriage with Lois Sievert at St. John's Lutheran Church in Galva, Iowa. They lived south of Alta until Earl retired from farming. Afterwards, Earl worked at Cargill Elevator in Alta.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Eugene, two brothers, Edmund and Albert; and one sister, Hilda Winterhof.
Survivors include his wife of the home; four sons, Larry, of Magnolia, Texas, Laurel, of Marquette, Michigan, and Eldon and Randy, of Alta; two daughters, Sharon Roscoe, of Cocoa Beach, Florida, and Connie Lietz, of Alta; fifteen grandchildren and many other relatives (Alta Advertiser, 3-30-1994).
