Nhouphone Navongsa, age 52, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died February 20, 2011, at the Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.

Nhouphone, the daughter of Kong and Chanly Vongvieng Kham, was born on October 10, 1958, in Laos.

Nhouphone was united in marriage to Sub Navongsa in Thailand. This union was blessed with four children: Thavone, Kaisone, Khonsavanh, and Tommy.

In 1992, Nhouphone moved to Storm Lake and then lived in California for four years. After living in California, she returned to Storm Lake.

She loved to cook and entertain her friends. Nhouphone liked to spend her free time watching Thai movies and shopping, especially for purses. She found much joy in her family and cherished all of the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. Nhouphone will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Thavone, Kaisone, Khonsavanh, and Tommy, all of Storm Lake, Iowa; one grandson; one granddaughter; one brother, Soon Vongviengkham; two sisters, Ling Hom and Ngam Maluthaphong; as well as extended family and many friends.

Nhouphone was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister; and one brother.

Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m. February 26, 2011, at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake, Iowa.
