John Fredrick Binder
September 19, 1949 - April 1*, 2004The son of Calvin and Freda (Gunter) Binder, John Fredrick Binder, formerly of Storm Lake, was born in Clay Center, Kansas, on September 19, 1949.
On December 3, 1977, he married Kathy Helman in Cedar Rapids.
John was a supervisor at Farmland in Monmouth for four years. Previously, he worked at Hormel in Austin, Minnesota, for four years. He was also employed by IBP in Storm Lake where he farmed for many years. He was active in youth activities and sports and coached Little League Baseball in Iowa.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy; three sons: Neil and Ryan Binder, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Alex Binder, at home in Galesburg; his brother, Scott Binder, of Charlotte, North Carolina; and his sister, Marilyn Saathoff, Austin, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Calvin (Bill) William in 1970.
Funeral services for John Fredrick Binder, 54, Galesburg, Illinois, were held Monday, April 5, 2004, at the Lakeside Presbyterian Church in Storm Lake with Reverend Duane Queen officiating. Burial was in the Storm Lake Buena Vista Memorial Cemetery. The Watson Funeral Home in Galesburg, Illinois, was in charge of arrangements.
