Nancy Brown, age 88, of Newell, Iowa, died February 3, 2011, in Sioux City, Iowa.

Nancy W. Webb, the daughter of Floyd L. Webb and Mary E. (Jones) Webb, was born November 29, 1922, in Isle of Wight, Virginia. Growing up, she attended school in Virginia and, upon graduation, she enrolled in the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago.

On December 30, 1944, Nancy was united in marriage to Milton O. Brown in Richmond, Virginia. They were blessed with seven children: William, Norman, Donald, Martha, Mary, James, and Timothy.

Nancy was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Newell, Iowa. She sang in the choir, taught Sunday school and led Bible Study for many years. Her deep love of the Lord compelled her to spend a part of each morning and evening reading God’s Word and praying for those she loved.

Nancy enjoyed crocheting, reading, and gardening. She loved cooking, canning, journaling, and writing letters. Nancy treasured her family, finding one of her greatest joys in spending time with them.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Milton Brown, of Newell, Iowa; her children: William (Susan) Brown, of Rochester, Minnesota, Norman (Patricia) Brown, of Medford, Minnesota, Donald (Sheryl) Brown, of Crystal, Minnesota, Marty (Tom) Olsen, of Newell, Iowa, James (Rebecca) Brown, of Hudsonville, Michigan, and Timothy (Laurie) Brown, of Ames, Iowa; her grandchildren: Sara (fiancé Scott Kallstrand) Brown, Bruce (Carolyn) Brown, Leslie (Karl) Anderson, Scott Brown, Elizabeth (Kyle) Bottke, Allison Brown, Andrea (Ben) Nelson, Erica (August) Lambers, Julia (Sean) Pruden, Stephen Brown, Mark (Valerie) Olsen, Kurt (Beth) Olsen, Peter Olsen, Philip (Stephanie) Brown, Eric (Rachel) Brown, Tyler (Sarah) Brown, Emily (Joe) Skalandis, Kristin Brown, Katie (fiancé Travis Brammer) Brown, and Austin (fiancée Sara Shafer) Brown; twelve great-grandchildren; her brothers: Robert (Gwen) Webb, of Elkridge, Maryland, and Paul and (Donna) Webb, of Madison, Alabama; her sisters: M. Elizabeth Webb, of Richmond, Virginia, Mary Lee Haglin, of Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania, and Alice (Neal A.) Bedinger, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Mary; her sister, A. Minette Webb; and her brother-in-law, Gilbert Haglin.

Visitation: 1:30-2:30 p.m., February 05, 2011, at the Bethel Baptist Church in Newell, Iowa.
Funeral Service: 2:30 p.m., February 05, 2011, at the Bethel Baptist Church in Newell, Iowa.
Interment: February 05, 2011, at the Newell Cemetery in Newell, Iowa.
