Linda Ann (Potts) Thornhill, age 55, of Storm Lake, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2004, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City.

Linda was born on October 7, 1948, to Clyde and Doris Potts of Storm Lake. She grew up and attended school in Storm Lake. Upon graduation from Storm Lake High School, Linda pursued an education at Stewart's School of Beauty in Sioux City. After spending twenty-seven years in Denison, Linda returned to Storm Lake in August of 1996 and worked at Buena Vista Manor as a hairdresser and at Bil-Mar Foods as a night cook.

Linda had many interests. She loved to play Bingo on the weekends, and she enjoyed venturing out, shopping and going places. She had a passion for being with her family and was overjoyed when she played with her grandchildren. She could often be found at the table playing cards, making jokes and laughing with her family and friends.

Linda is survived by her mother, Doris Potts, of Storm Lake; her two children: Amy, and her husband, E.M. Leonard, of Des Moines, and Jason Thornhill, and his fiancée, Jennifer Rowell, of Omaha, Nebraska; two grandchildren: Jordan and Gavin Rowell; three sisters: Sherri, and her husband, Vern Kowalke, of Nemaha, Kathy, and her husband, Mike Nuss, of Ottumwa, and Carol, and her husband, Don Sweeten, of Webb City, Missouri; two brothers: Dennis Potts, and his wife, Debbie, of Denison, and Dan Potts, and his wife, Dee Dee, of Algona; as well as several special nieces, nephews and godchildren.

Linda was preceded in death by her father, Clyde Potts, and her sister, Cynthia Hand.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 31, 2004, at 1 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Storm Lake with Reverend Jamie Cutler officiating. There will be a private family burial. The Sliefert ~ Asmus Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
