Elvera H. Anderson, age 96, of Storm Lake, Iowa, was the last remaining member of her immediate family when she passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior on December 9, 2010, at the Pleasant View Home in Albert City, Iowa.

Elvera was born April 24, 1914, in rural Marshall Township, Pocahontas County, Iowa, to Erick Bjorklund and Ida (Anderson) Bjorklund.

She lived on her parent's farm near Albert City, Iowa, and attended a one-room grammar school east of Albert City. Elvera graduated from Albert City High School in 1932.

Elvera was baptized and confirmed (1929) into the Christian faith and was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Albert City until 1949. After 1949, she was a member of the Center Grove Evangelical Free Church in rural Alta and the Hope Evangelical Free Church of Storm Lake.

Elvera married LeRoy E. Anderson on May 20, 1938, at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Albert City. They began married life on a farm northeast of Storm Lake until 1948. Their four children were born here, Derwyn and Gordon and the twins, Linda and Lynette. From 1948-1978, Elvera and LeRoy lived on a farm southwest of Rembrandt, Iowa. During retirement, they lived in Storm Lake. Elvera spent the last several years of her life at the Pleasant View Home in Albert City.

Elvera enjoyed gardening and sewing. She was an avid sports fan of her children’s baseball and basketball games. She was a faithful member of Hope Evangelical Free Church in Storm Lake where she was involved with the White Cross and WMS. She was a member of the Mother of Twins Club. Elvera treasured her family and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Elvera was preceded in death by her parents, Erick and Ida; her husband, LeRoy; one son, Gordon; one sister, Esther; five brothers: Rudolph (Ellen) Bjorklund; Elmer (Emma) Bjorklund; Walter (Juanita) Bjorklund; Arthur (Bertha) Bjorklund; and Roy Bjorklund.

Elvera is survived by one son, Derwyn (Jackie) Anderson, of St. Joseph, Minnesota; two daughters: Linda (Phil) Smith, of Alexandria, Minnesota, and Lynette (Henry) Nabben, of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas; one daughter-in-law, Joleen Anderson, of Rembrandt, Iowa; six grandchildren: Mark (Veronica) Anderson, of St. Cloud, Minnesota, Karen (Steve) Elliott, of Eagan, Minnesota, Kevin (Jean) Smith, of Parkers Prairie, Minnesota, Kari (Greg) Springer, of Brainerd, Minnesota, Jason Anderson, of Rembrandt, Iowa, and Rebekah Anderson, of Portland, Oregon; seven great grandchildren, Kirsten, Greta, Brandt, Tyler, Lance, Kailey, and Carter; nieces; nephews; extended family and friends.

Visitation: 9:30 a.m. December 13, 2010, at Hope Evangelical Free Church in Storm Lake, Iowa
Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. December 13, 2010, at Hope Evangelical Free Church in Storm Lake, Iowa
Interment: December 13, 2010, at Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery in Storm Lake, Iowa
