January 12, 1974 - October 30, 2003John Helmbrecht, 29, of Onawa, formerly of Storm Lake, died in Lincoln on October 30, 2003.
John Daniel Helmbrecht was born in Onawa on January 12, 1974. He attended and graduated from Manson Northwest Webster High School in 1992. After graduation, he joined the Army Reserve National Guard and went to work at IBP in Storm Lake. John moved to Lincoln, Nebraska in 2001.
Among other activities, John loved playing bass guitar, collecting Indian relics, riding horses, camping, enjoying the outdoors, and performing magic tricks.
John Helmbrecht is survived by his mother and stepfather, Vivian and Wally Whitehill; his father and stepmother, Chris and Vicki Helmbrecht; his brothers and sisters, Todd Uhl, Tony Helmbrecht, and Robert Helmbrecht, and his wife, Katie; his niece and nephews, Amanda, Ricky, Billy, and Jenny Whitehill; his grandmother, Verla Helmbrecht; his step-grandmother, Irene Whitehill; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral Services for John Daniel Helmbrecht will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints, 1426 N. 26th Street, Fort Dodge. Date and time are pending.
