Patrick James Young, age 60, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died Saturday, November 13, 2010, at the Sunset Knoll Care Center in Aurelia, Iowa.
Patrick James Young was born July 2, 1950, in Waverly, Iowa, the son of Delbert and Regina (Miles) Young. Growing up, he attended school in Sulphur Springs and graduated from Storm Lake High School in 1968. Following high school, he attended Buena Vista University and later graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Telecommunications.
Patrick was a longtime manager of the Vista Theater in Storm Lake. He also worked at Faith, Hope and Charity in Storm Lake because he loved helping the children. Very curious about and interested in electronics, he also enjoyed them. Most of all, however, he treasured spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews.
Those left to cherish his memory include his brothers, Steve (Nancy) Young, Mark (Chris) Young, and Dan (Jaynee) Young, all of Storm Lake, Iowa, and Chris (Jeannie) Young, of Breda, Iowa; his sister, Maureen (Bob) Kelsey, of Storm Lake, Iowa; his uncle, James Miles, of Los Angeles, California; a special friend, Wally Keller, of Storm Lake, Iowa; his many nieces and nephews; his great nieces and great nephews; and his extended family and friends.
Patrick was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents; his brother, Michael Young; and his niece, Allison Kelsey.
Visitation: 5-7:00 p.m. November 17, 2010, at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake, Iowa
Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. November 18, 2010, at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake, Iowa
