Donald Nelson
June 8, 1919 - April 12, 2003Donald Ellsworth Nelson, 83, of Cherokee, died at the Country Side Estates in Cherokee on Saturday, April 12, 2003.
He was born on a farm north of Alta to Swan and Cora Mae (Peterson) Nelson on June 8, 1919. He worked as a chore boy on the farm. He loved animals, especially little pigs and cats, wanting them to be well fed. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Alta.
Survivors include one nephew, Dennis Brisbois of Richland Center, Wisconsin; special friend, Darlene Johnson of Primghar and her children and their families: Mark Johnson of Sheldon, Marchia Lundquist of Primghar, and Terree Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and two-half brothers.
Funeral Services for Donald Nelson will be Tuesday, April 15, 2003, at the Barker Funeral Home, Alta, with Pastor Lillette E. Johnston officiating. Burial will be in the Scandinavian Cemetery, Alta.
