Arnold Jensen
September 10, 1920 - [January 19, 2003]*Arnold Lavern Jensen, 82 of Ute, formerly of Storm Lake, was born September 10, 1920, in rural Ute, the eldest son of Efraim and Clara Jensen. He finished high school at Soldier and farmed with his father before serving in the Army at General Patton's headquarters in Germany as a staff sergeant. After WWII, he returned to Iowa, attended banking school in Omaha, Nebraska, and subsequently took a position in the Moffat County State Bank in Craig, Colorado, where he met his wife Mary (Peggy).
He returned to Iowa and was employed at Security Trust and Savings Bank in Storm Lake for 17 years. He became an insurance salesman before taking a position as vice president at Cleghorn State, retiring as bank president in 1983. He moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, in 1987 and lived there until his death on January 19, 2003.
He was an elder in the Storm Lake and Cherokee Churches of Christ, a member of Holy Trinity Evangelical Orthodox Church and St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Indianapolis, Indiana.
He is survived by his wife, Mary, and his children, Kenneth of Indianapolis, Indiana, Tom of Sacramento, California, Mark of Stuarts Draft, Virginia, Janene Wey of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Craig of Orange City; a brother Col. Harvey Jensen of Dana Point, California; a sister, Helene Willis of Joplin, Missouri; 17 grandchildren and two great granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; a sister, and one granddaughter.
Funeral services were held for Arnold Lavern Jensen at St. the John Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Indianapolis, Indiana, on Wednesday, January 22, 2003. Burial was in the Floral Park Cemetery, Indianapolis, Indiana.
