Mark Douglas Jensen, 56, of Stuarts Draft, Virginia, died Sunday, April 11, 2010.
Mark was born on June 17, 1953, in Storm Lake, Iowa. He graduated from high school at Cleghorn, Iowa, in 1971. He studied religion at Lincoln Christian College in Lincoln, Illinois, and at San Jose Christian College in San Jose, California.
He was married in 1974, to Marjorie Phillips in Mount Hermon, California. He was employed as a Senior Master Auto Technician with car dealerships in Staunton, Charlottesville and Harrisonburg, Virginia, from 1978 to 2009 when he retired due to his illness with cancer.
Mark loved to fish, hunt, hike, photograph and meditate in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, the Flat Tops Wilderness of Colorado, and the Yosemite high country in California. His favorite place was a mountain called "De Priest" in Rockbridge County, Virginia.
He is survived by his beloved family including his wife, Marjorie Jensen; two daughters, Artemis Kay Jensen of Greenbelt, Maryland, and Alathea Irene Jensen,of Stuarts Draft, Virginia; his mother, Mary Jensen of Indianapolis, Indiana; a sister, Janene Wey and her husband, David Wey, of Indianapolis; three brothers, Ken Jensen and his wife, Kathy, of Indianapolis, Tom Jensen and his wife, Pat, of Gold River, California, and Craig Jensen and his wife, Kristi, of Cleghorn, Iowa; and numerous precious nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arnold LaVerne Jensen.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Thursday, April 15, 2010, at the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes and Crematory.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 16, 2010, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Waynesboro, Father Rolo Castillo officiating.
Mark's remains have been cremated as he wished. Committal of his cremains will immediately follow the memorial service at Augusta Memorial Park on Goose Creek Road in Waynesboro.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes and Crematory.
