Beulah Smith, age 81, of Fonda, Iowa, died August 16, 2010, at the Newell Good Samaritan Center in Newell.
Beulah R. Heller was born November 13, 1928, in Fonda, Iowa, the daughter of Luella Heller. Growing up, Beulah attended grade school in Fonda.
On July 21, 1953, Beulah was united in marriage to Daniel Smith at the Methodist Church in Newell, Iowa. Together they were blessed with five children: Stan, Jerry, Joanne, Mary and Sandy.
Beulah was a member of the United Church of Christ in Fonda and the Presbyterian Church Mariners. She loved cooking, babysitting and her cat. Beulah enjoyed socializing and going out to eat with friends. She treasured her family and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Stan (Cindy) Christenson of Grimes, Iowa; Jerry (Cindy) Christenson of Calumet, Iowa; Joanne Smith and special friend Dave of Storm Lake, Iowa; Mary (Craig) Proffitt of Knoxville, Iowa; Sandy (Doug) Franzmeier of Fonda, Iowa; grandchildren: John Christenson; Laura (Kent) Kunkel; Steven (Trista) Smith; Evan Franzmeier; Breanna and Rilee Proffitt; Abby Nadel; special friend, Maurice Smith; extended family and many friends.
Beulah was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel; her mother, Luella; and one sister, Charlotte.
Visitation: 5-8:00 p.m. August 18, 2010, at Mahaney Funeral Home in Fonda, Iowa
Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. August 19, 2010, at Fonda Arts Center in Fonda, Iowa
