Lydia Lehmann, 89, of Storm Lake, died Monday, June 24, 2002, at the Buena Vista Manor in Storm Lake.
Lydia Bertha Radke was born July 18, 1912, the daughter of Carl and Anna (Hustedt) Radke at Galva. She was baptized July 28, 1912, and confirmed on March 24, 1926, at St. John's Lutheran at Hanover.
Lydia attended school in Galva, and then she attended St. John's Parochial School at Hanover. On March 1, 1942, Lydia married Arthur Henry Lehmann at the St. John's Lutheran Parsonage Hanover. They farmed in Grant Township, Buena Vista County.
Lydia moved to Storm Lake in November of 1984. On June 23, 1992, Lydia became a resident of the Buena Vista Manor. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Storm Lake and enjoyed gardening and doing embroidery.
Preceding Lydia in death were her parents, and infant brother, Orville, and her husband Arthur on November 8, 1984.
Survivors include one daughter, Karen Ann and her husband Joseph Casey of Chanhassen, MN; two grandchildren, Jonathan Casey of Minneapolis, MN, and Jeanne Casey and her husband David Minchin of Kailua, Hawaii; one great-grandson Sean Casey-Minchin; one brother, Ralph and his wife Sally Radke of Galva; one sister-in-law Sophia Schramm of Storm Lake; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Lydia Lehmann will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 28, 2002, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Storm Lake with Pastor Douglas Haynes officiating. Burial will be in the Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery, Storm Lake. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 - 7 p.m. at the Sliefert Redig Funeral Home in Storm Lake.
