James Howard - Feb 13, 1956 - June 6, 2010

James Howard, age 54, of Marathon, Iowa, died June 6, 2010, at his home in Marathon.

James Allen Howard, the son of Raymond and Joyce (Templeman) Howard, was born in Rapid City, South Dakota, on February 13, 1956.

Jim moved with his family to Marathon, Iowa, in 1962, and there he lived his youth and received his education. He furthered his education at Buena Vista College in Storm Lake, Iowa, and later received his Master’s Degree in World War II War History from the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri. Jim spent his lifetime in the Marathon Community.

Jim is survived by his mother, Joyce Howard, of Albert City, Iowa; his brother, Bruce Howard, of Storm Lake, Iowa; a nephew, Justin Howard, of Sulphur Springs, Iowa; other extended family.

Jim was preceded in death by his father.

A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Albert City, Iowa. Interment will be in the Poland Township Cemetery in Marathon, Iowa. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Albert City is in charge of the arrangements.
