Donald W. Brown, 60, of Storm Lake, died Saturday, March 23, 2002, at his home after a sudden illness.
Donald William Brown was born February 1, 1942, in Odebolt, the son of Ewald and Esther (Hokanson) Brown. He graduated from Odebolt High School in 1961.
Donald lived and worked on family farm with his parents until moving off the farm in 1978. For the past several years, he had made his home in Storm Lake.
He enjoyed visiting with people and was a very caring person.
Donald is survived by a sister, Dorothy McFarland and her husband Harold, of Storm Lake; a brother, Robert Brown and his wife Thelma, of Sac City; a brother-in-law, Lloyd Lamaak, of Pueblo, Colorado; a sister-in-law, Marjorie Brown, of Denison; and by his special friend, D.J. of Storm Lake.
Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins and an uncle, Robert Hokanson and his wife, Alvina of Des Moines.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Elaine Lamaak, a brother, Edward Brown, and two nephews, Dennis and Rickey McFarland.
The funeral service will be Saturday, March 30, 2002, at 10:30 a.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home with the Reverend Todd Schlitter from the United Methodist Church in Storm Lake officiating. Burial will be in Odebolt Cemetery in Odebolt.
A memorial fund has been established.
