Jeanette Schroll, age 88, formerly of Alta and Storm Lake, died at Methodist Hospital, St. Louis Park, Minnesota, on April 15, 2002.
Olive Jeanette Wall, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Herbert Wall (Cora Buckingham) was born July 31, 1913, in Alta. She lived with her parents on a farm south of Alta until the age of 13.
She attended the Alta Consolidated School through the eighth grade. The family moved to Storm Lake in 1928, and she attended and graduated from Storm Lake High School in 1931. Olive graduated from Buena Vista College in 1933 with a degree in elementary education.
She was united in marriage to Robert Schroll on June 6, 1934, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They lived on a farm south of Storm Lake for 46 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and was active in the church, serving as Sunday School teacher and superintendent of the Primary Department and member of the church board for several years. She held offices in the Women's Society for 10 years. She was a member of Eastern Star, and was organist for seven years in the Storm Lake Chapter. She was an active member of the Federated Women's Club.
They moved to their home in Orlando, Florida, March 3, 1980, where they joined St. Luke's United Methodist Church. In 1991 she moved to the Wayzata, Minnesota, area.
Olive was preceded in death by Robert, her husband of 53 years. She will be dearly missed by her sons, Charles, of Storm Lake, David & wife Melissa, of Philadelphia, PA; and their daughters, Lindsay & Hadley, Steven and wife Tamela of Orono, MN, and their children Adam and Libby.
Memorial Services for Jeanette Schroll will be held at the David Lee Funeral Home, Saturday, April 20, 2002, at 1:00 PM.
Interment will be in Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis.
