Arthur Peterson of Storm Lake passed away of an apparent heart attack on April 13, 2002, in Storm Lake at the age of 85 years, four months, and 10 days.
Arthur E. Peterson was born to Elmer A. and Hilda (Johnson) Peterson on December 3, 1916, in Galva. He was baptized on July 8, 1917, and later confirmed into the Lutheran faith.
Arthur received his elementary education in the Galva consolidated school. On 1931, the family moved to a farm in the fairview community where he received his high school education.
On November 18, 1936, Arthur was united in marriage to Pearl Kraemer in Jackson, MN. This union was blessed with four children, Roger Arthur, Janet Anne, Ronald Ernest, and Robert Eugene.
They farmed and lived at the same place for 55 years. In 1993, the couple moved to their home in Storm Lake. Arthur enjoyed doing things with his family and friends. He was always willing to help when needed. He loved all kinds of sports and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Ernest; and his son, Roger.
Arthur is survived Pearl, by his wife of 65 years; one daughter, Janet and her husband Norman Dilley of Plymouth, MN; two sons, Ronald Peterson and his wife Janet of Omaha, NE., Robert Peterson and his wife Diane of Mankato, Minn.; daughter-in-law DeAnn and her husband Emmett Johnson of Eden Prairie, MN; five grandchildren, Grace Ann and her husband Scott Roberts, James Dilley and his wife Jennifer, David Dilley and special friend Jennifer Smith, Craig Peterson and his wife Heather, and Kelli Peterson and her fiance Todd Vensland; five great grandchildren; one nephew, Eldon Peterson and his wife Debra of Alta; three sisters-in-law, Esther Paap of Storm Lake, Mabel Bentzin of Monticello, and Verna Kraemer of Alta; and a host of relatives and friends.
A memorial fund will be set up in lieu of flowers.
Funeral services for Arthur E. Peterson were held Thursday, April 18, 2002, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Alta, with Pastor Lilette E. Johnston officiating.
Burial was in Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery. The Barker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
