Ann Bates, 90, of Storm Lake, died March 25, 2002, at the Methodist Manor in Storm Lake.

Annamae Adams was born October 26, 1911, the daughter of Ed and Mabel (Daniels) Adams at Barnard, Mo. After completing high school, she attended the Northwest Missouri State Teacher College in Maryville, Mo., for four years. On May 15, 1935, she married William W. Bates at Elk Point, South Dakota. Ann was a member of the United Methodist Church and PEO Chapter EP. She enjoyed spending time with her family.

Preceding Ann in death were her parents; her husband William on January 23; son Bill Bates III and his wife Jan Rowe; one sister, Velma Eaton; and two brothers, George and Paul Adams.

Survivors include her daughter, Paula Wilson of Sioux City; six grandchildren, Beth and her husband Jim Noethe of Lake View, Sara and her husband Alex Shumansky of Sgt. Bluff, Paul and his wife Karen Wilson of Sgt. Bluff, Kim and her husband Todd Scott of Peosta, IL., Suzanne and her husband Toby Jackson of Kansas City, MO., and William and his wife Heather Bates of Schaller; nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Ann were held Wednesday, March 27, 2002, at the Sliefert Redig Funeral Home in Storm Lake with Pastor Todd Schlitter officiating. Burial was in the Storm Lake Cemetery.
