Billie Jo Titus, 34, of Emmetsburg, passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2002, at his residence near Alta, following a lengthy battle with cancer.
Billie Jo Titus was born April 4, 1967, in Emmetsburg, the son of Dennis and Marsha (Hoffmeyer) Titus. He received his education at Emmetsburg Elementary and Jr. High Schools and worked through high school with his dad in construction. He attended Iowa Lakes Community College and graduated in the spring of 1988 with a degree in Auto Mechanics.
He was united in marriage to Loree Zwemke on September 24, 1988, and they resided in Arnolds Park where he worked at Wymer Motors in Spirit Lake. He went to work at Fitzpatrick's Auto Center in Storm Lake in 1989 where he continued working until December of 2000.
Bill enjoyed fishing, watching races and working on projects with and for friends and family.
Survivors include his children: Samantha Jo, Jeffrey Charles and Salena Jade, who all reside at home in Alta with their mother.
Also surviving are his mother, Marsha Langenwalter of Ruthven; his sisters, Chris and Jim Biddle of New Ulm, MN, Sheila and Dale Kepler of Iowa City; his brothers, Dan and Lisa Titus of Spencer and Sam and Jennifer Titus of Jewell; his maternal grandmother, Grace Hoffmeyer of Estherville; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and his many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Titus, his infant brother, Chad, his maternal grandfather, Richard Hoffmeyer and his paternal grandparents, Wayne and Irene Titus.
Funeral services for Bill Titus will be held Tuesday, February 5, 2002, at 10:30 a.m. at the Assembly of God Church, Emmetsburg, with Reverend David Biddle officiating.
Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Emmetsburg. The Martin-Mattice Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
