Everett LeRoy Eimers, 73, of Storm Lake, died on Wednesday, January 9, 2002, at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona.
Everett was born on January 22, 1928, at Halpa, Iowa, the son of Emil John and Adella Emma (Meyer) Eimers.
He attended country school and graduated from the Burt High School in 1945. On June 23, 1950, Everett was united in marriage to Lorraine Krause at St. John Lutheran Church in Burt. He later married Inez Marie Schramm at St. John Lutheran Church in Storm Lake on August 16, 1957.
Everett worked as a farmer, construction worker, and on April 1, 1963, he began working at Consumers Supply in Storm Lake, retiring in October of 1991. Everett was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Storm Lake. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, camping, gardening and especially spending time with his grandchildren.
Preceding Everett in death were his parents, an infant sister, an infant son, David Allen Eimers, and a brother-in-law, Wilfred Schmidt.
Survivors include his wife, Inez Eimers of Storm Lake; three sons, Kent and his wife Jacqueline Eimers of Springfield, MO., Bill and his wife Jean Eimers of Storm Lake; and Dale and his wife Carmen Eimers of Grand Island, NE.; one daughter, Eileen and her husband Steve Turnquist of Alta. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, Matt Eimers, Jeff Eimers, Stephanie Eimers, Paula Eimers, Ariel Turnquist, Ethan Eimers, Alyssa Turnquist, Dakota Eimers, Ali Turnquist, Alicia Turnquist; four brothers, Ray and his wife Lavonne Eimers of Midway, AZ., Jerry and his wife Darlyn Eimers of Dike, and twin brother, Ervin and his wife Pat Eimers of Burt, and second set of twins, Don and his wife Norma Eimers of Coon Rapids, MN., and sister Darlene Schmidt of Titonka, and nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Everett Eimers were held 2 p.m., Saturday, January 12, 2002, at the St. John Lutheran Church with Pastor Douglas Haynes and Pastor Kevin Huss officiating. Burial was in the Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery in Storm Lake.
