Jerry Lynn McMichael, 65, Nashua, formerly of Storm Lake and Waterloo, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2002, of natural causes at the Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo.
Jerry was born December 6, 1936, in Dallas, Texas, to William and Elizabeth (Dickey) McMichael. He graduated from Northwest Texas, Amarillo, Texas, and the Letterman School of Anesthesia, U.S. Army, San Francisco, CA.
On March 8, 1958, he was married to Joyce Wiltrout in Oakland, CA.
Jerry served with the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1959 and with the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1972. He was a board member for Comprehensive Systems in Charles City and a member of the AANA. Jerry was employed at St. Francis Hospital in Waterloo for nine years and at Buena Vista County Hospital in Storm Lake for twelve years. He retired in 1996.
Jerry enjoyed playing golf and traveling.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce, of Nashua; a daughter, Deb Ketels, of Waterloo; and two sons, David McMichael, of Charles City and Glenn McMichael of Nashua; and five grandchildren.
Preceding him in death, a son, William McMichael; his parents, William and Elizabeth (Dickey) McMichael.
Funeral services for Jerry were held Wednesday, January 30, 2002, at St. John Lutheran Church in Nashua.
The Chenoweth and Son Funeral Home, Nashua, was in charge of arrangements.
