Robert Flohr, age 47, of Fredonia, Kansas, a native of Albert City, died Friday, November 30, 2001, in Fredonia, Kansas, after a long illness.

Robert Flohr was born October 2, 1954, in Lincoln, NE, the son of Ray Flohr Sr. and Irene (Bentzinger) Flohr. He graduated from Albert City High School with the class of 1973 and earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Iowa in 1977. After he graduated from the University of Iowa, he had a year of postgraduate study of microprocessors.

Intel Corporation employed Robert as a System Design Engineer from 1983-1985. In the late 1970's and early 80's, he was involved with the rapid growth of technology that was taking place at Silicon Valley in California.

He was a life long member of the Methodist Church, attending the Kimberling Methodist Church in Kimberling, MO.

He is survived by his mother Irene Flohr Barels and her husband, Dr. Robert Barels of Reeds Springs, MO; brothers, Ray and his wife Anna Flohr of Carmel, IN, Brian and his wife Sahra Flohr of Carmel, IN; uncle, Arnold Bentzinger of Martell, NE; aunt, Ruth Imes of Lincoln, NE; numerous nieces and nephews; along with other family and friends.

His father, Ray Flohr Sr., and his uncles Wayne Flohr, Kenneth Flohr and Rolly Bentzinger preceded him in death.

Funeral services were Tuesday, December 4th, 2001, at Fratzke and Jensen Funeral Home, Storm Lake, with the Reverend Ken Bell of Storm Lake United Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in the Storm Lake Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established.
