Jerome Loving, 79, passed away on Friday, October 19, 2001, at the age of 79 years at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center.

Jerome Arvid Wilbur Loving, son of Elmer Carl Emil and Esther Valera (Peterson) Loving was born on February 18, 1922, at home on the farm near Albert City. He received his schooling at Albert City Community School, graduating in 1939.

Jerome served his country in the Army Air Force from October 29, 1942, until September 4, 1945, when he received an Honorable Discharge at the rank of Technical Sergeant. He then began farming.

He married Norma Peterson on June 20, 1947 at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Albert City. To this union one son, Robert and two daughters, Susan and Barbara were born.

Jerome was a member of the Albert City Lions Club and served on the following boards, Chairman of the Albert City Threshermens and Collectors, BV County Pork Producers, BV County Soil Conservation Board, Marathon Co-op and Pleasant View Nursing Home. He loved farming and took a real interest and pride in the Threshermans as well as enjoying his grandchildren.

Jerome was a life long member of the Evangelical Covenant Church where he was very active serving as trustee, Deacon, Chairman, Brotherhood and a Sunday School Teacher.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister-in-law, Wanita Peterson and Edna Loving.

His survivors include his wife, Norma Loving, of Albert City; a son, Robert, and his spouse, Mavis Loving, of Albert City; his two daughters, Suzanne and her spouse Michael Brenden of Whiting; and Barbara and her spouse David West of Clive; a brother, Elwood Loving of Albert City; a sister Lorraine and her spouse Harold Bloom of Albert City; grandchildren, Kari, Karmen and Laurie Loving; Sarah and Jason Brenden and Zachary, Nathan and Jacob West; step-grandchildren, Tracy and Christy Brenden; a great grandchild, Kayla Brenden along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Jerome Loving were October 19, 2001, at the Evangelical Covenant Church, Albert City, with Pastor Steve Paul officiating. Interment was in the Fairfield Township Cemetery, Albert City.
