Adeline Nelson - Apr. 25, 1927 - Nov. 15, 2001

Adeline Nelson, 74, of Storm Lake, died Thursday, November 15, 2001, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City.

Adeline Mary Kruckenberg was born April 25, 1927, the daughter of William A. Kruckenberg and Mathilda (Loll) Kruckenberg in Lytton. She attended country school north of Lytton. On January 30, 1950, Adeline married Anton William Nelson at the American Lutheran Church in Lytton. She was a homemaker and worked as a private duty care giver for several people in area nursing homes. Adeline was a member of the Nain Lutheran Church, and she was a Sunday School teacher for over 25 years. She enjoyed gardening, canning, camping and especially dancing.

Preceding Adeline in death were her parents; son, John Nelson on May 2, 1999; one brother, Delmar Kruckenberg; and two sisters, one who died in infancy and Nina Beck.

Survivors include her husband Bill of Storm Lake; two daughters, Lois and her husband Allan Todd of Holstein, and Cynthia and her husband Brad Pedersen of Alta; one son, Bruce Nelson of Alta; and one daughter-in-law, Sylvia Nelson of Newell. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, Layne and Jay Todd, Sherry DeRoos, Stephanie Anderson, Amanda and Julia Nelson, Elizabeth and Brian Pedersen, Brittany, Megan and Kurstian Nelson; four great-grandchildren, Katelynn and Hope DeRoos, and Megan and Brennan Todd; two sisters, Lillian Tegels of Story City, and Wilda Johnson of Clinton, Mo.; sister-in-law Helen Kruckenberg of Lytton; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Adeline Nelson will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, November 19, 2001, at the Nain Lutheran Church in Newell with Pastor Tom Hagan officiating. Interment will be in the Newell Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday from 1 to 7 p.m. with the family being present from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Sliefert Redig Funeral Home in Storm Lake.
