Marian Warnock, 91, Storm Lake, died Monday, November 12, 2001, at the Pleasant View Home in Albert City where she had been a resident since November 9, 2000.

Marian Parker was born January 28, 1910, the fifth and youngest child of Deputy Sheriff Traverse C. Parker and Mary (Freeman) Parker in LeMars.

Marian attended school in LeMars and graduated from the LeMars High School in 1928. She then studied piano at Westmar College in LeMars.

Marian married Oliver Warnock, Merrill, on November 28, 1928. They had four children: Donna, Nancy, Michael and Tracy.

She was baptized on April 27, 1941, at the First Baptist Church in Storm Lake. She taught Sunday school and remained an active member for 60 years. She accompanied musical groups all her life by playing the organ and piano. She enjoyed playing at regular church services as well as for weddings and funerals.

Marian lived in Storm Lake almost all of her married life with her husband who owned and operated Warnock Alignment, Storm Lake. They lived in several homes in Storm Lake over the years, and then she moved to Roth Apartments for 22 years before becoming a resident at the Pleasant View Home, Albert City.

Marian worked at Berg Jewelry Store and Douglass Clothier's. She also owned her own ceramic shop and helped out her husband by keeping books for his business. They were active in the Serpaci antique car club and enjoyed their outings with their Model T Ford.

Preceding Marian in death were her parents, her husband Oliver on June 15, 1971, son Michael on September 11, 1998, infant great-grandson Gabriel Kolacia, two brothers, Hale Parker and Ralph Parker, and two sisters, Madge Peterson and Hazel Merritt.

Survivors include her two daughters, Donna and her husband Jim Dwyer, Cedar Rapids, Nancy and her husband Duane Miller, Albert City; one son Tracy and his wife Mary Warnock, Ankeny; daughter-in-law Joan Warnock, Henry, South Dakota; 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Marian Warnock will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church, Storm Lake.

Burial will be in the Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery, Storm Lake. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. with the family being present at the Sliefert Redig Funeral Home in Storm Lake.
