Karen Fick, 61, of Livingston, Montana, formerly of rural Albert City, died Tuesday morning, October 2, 2001, at Livingston Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Fick was born July 15, 1940, in Storm Lake, the daughter of Walter and Jewell (Nehring) Sorbe. She was the eldest of four children. Karen spent her early years and was raised on the family farm near Albert City. She married Harold Fick on July 30, 1961. They were able to celebrate their 40th anniversary this past summer. Karen and Harold spent many happy years raising their children in Spencer. After the kids finished school and were away at college, Karen and Harold decided to move west. They went to Livingston, Montana, which they called home for the last 13 years.

She was an extremely devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her grandson, Scott, was the light of her life. She had joined in the celebration of his 4th birthday shortly before her death. Her devotion to family was always of utmost importance.

Survivors include her husband Harold; two daughters, Theresa Lobaugh, and her husband, Doug, of Livingston, Montana, and Susan Fick, of Three Rivers, Texas; a grandson, Scott Lobaugh, of Livingston, Montana; a sister, Connie Sorbe, of North Carolina; and an aunt, Audrey Miller, of Storm Lake.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Charles Sorbe.

Graveside Services will be held at the Storm Lake Cemetery, Saturday, October 6, 2001, at 10 a.m.
