Junior Danielson - Nov. 9, 1921 - [Oct. 19, 2001]*

Junior Oscar Danielson, 79, formerly of Albert City, was born November 9, 1921, to Oscar and Bertha Danielson. He grew up on a farm near Albert City. He received his education in Albert City. He was baptized September 15, 1926, and confirmed, June 2, 1936, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Albert City.

Junior was married three times. His first wife, Joyce Irene (Gilson) Danielson, passed away in 1972. They had four children: Cherry Danielson Kelly, Belton, Mo.; Jay (deceased in infancy), Jan Irene Danielson, Dallas, Texas; and Susan Danielson Hoover, Grandview, Mo. His second wife was Francis Putnam. His third wife is Kathryn (Kate) Williams-Danielson.

Junior worked for the railroad during WWII. Later he worked for a lumber company as manager in Albert City. Then he worked for WJ Dixon and the Big Four Lumber companies for years in other towns in Iowa, returning to Albert City where he was foreman for Superior MFG, moving with company to Spencer where he retired.

Junior had many hobbies: fishing, gardening, playing bingo and cards, enjoying old westerns, especially John Wayne movies, watching football and dancing the Polka and Shottish.

Survivors include his wife Kate; his daughters and stepson Arthur and Dixie Williams, Chicago; grandchildren Jason, Adam, and Dustin Watkins, Kansas City, Mo., and Kimberly Ryle, Texas. Great-grand-children, Jason's stepson David Nevad, Adam's sons, Travis and Taylor Barrett of Kansas, Dustin's son Jonathan Leroy Watkins, Kansas, Mo., and his half-sister Cassie Marie Williams, Mo., Susan Kelly's children Kelly Clayton and Madison Paige Duce of Kansas, Mo., and Alyssa Rain Gill of Tampa, Fl., Arthur's children: James, Julie and Janelle all of Chicago; James children Doug and Drew, Janelle's children, Nathan and Josh, all of Chicago, Junior's brothers and wives: Ernest Andrew Axel Danielson and Opal of Grapevine, Tx., Carl Everett Danielson and Arlene, Estherville, Alan Lindy Danielson and Janice, Storm Lake, brother-in-law, Ernest Georg and Mertie, Algona; Half-brother, Lowell Frederick (Bud). There are numerous cousins, in-laws, nieces, nephews as well as great-nieces and nephews residing throughout the US.

Preceding him in death were his parents, son Jay (infant), sister Ardella Danielson Georg, a brother and sister (died shortly after birth), and great grandson Tyler (died in infancy).

Funeral Services for Junior were Sunday, October 21, 2001, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Albert City, with Pastor David Burnhart officiating.

Interment was in Fairfield Twp. Cemetery, Albert City. The Sliefert Funeral Home, Albert City, was in charge of arrangements.
