Former Storm Lake teacher, Margaret Evelyn Ford Rix, 92, of Hopkins, Minn., passed away August 31, 2001, following a lingering illness.

Margaret was born on July 18, 1909, in Storm Lake, a daughter of Hugh and Martha (Crowley) Ford. She attended High School at Hayes Consolidated School in Storm Lake and then earned a Teaching Degree at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake.

She was united in marriage to Harlan C. Rix on February 28, 1942, in Nebraska.

She lived near Storm Lake growing up on the family farm. In 1952 she moved to Minnesota living in Hopkins until 1999 when she moved to Burnsville, Minn.

She was a member of Mezpah Congregational Church in Hopkins, Minn., the Eastern Star and the Retired Teachers Association of Hopkins. She taught in the Garfield Consolidated School, Linn Grove and Storm Lake schools along with teaching in Arnold's Park and many years in Hopkins.

She is survived by her son, Charles, and his wife Sally Rix; grandchildren, David Charles and Anne Elizabeth; one brother, Charles (Marion) Ford; she is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded into death by three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services for Mrs. Rix were held for on Sunday, September, 2, 2001, at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, Eagan, Minn. The White Funeral Homes was in charge of the arrangements.
