Ancil M. Davis, age 76, of Lynnwood, Washington, died Monday, August 27, 2001, of a brain aneurysm at Providence Hospital in Everett, Washington.

Ancil was born February 16, 1925, in Sioux Rapids to Al and Mae Davis. The family moved to Storm Lake, and he graduated from Storm Lake High School in 1942. He immediately joined the Marine Corps and served his country in W.W.II, stationed in Okinawa. He later graduated from the University of Washington and became a certified public accountant. He resided in Seattle in the 1950's and moved to Snohomish County in 1963. He has resided in the Everett area for the past 38 years.

He was the founding partner of the Everett accounting firm of Davis & Jonas. He was a trustee of the Templin Charitable Foundation. He was active in the Everett Sertoma Club, serving for several years as a treasurer. He was a lifetime member of Everett Elks Lodge #479 and a member of Everett Masonic Lodge #137 and the Everett Scottish Rite.

Ancil enjoyed fishing, photography, and coin collecting. He was also a longtime member of the Everett Golf and Country Club. His favorite memory of the past year was attending his 58th high school reunion in Storm Lake in the fall of 2000.

Survivors are his daughter, Sandra Davis, of Lynnwood, WA.; his sister and brother-in-law Norma and Jim Lang of Grinnell; his sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Bill Sanders of Sun City West, Ariz.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Al and Mae Davis.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 4, 2001. Reverend Steve Lang officiated. As per Ancil's request, inurnment will be in the family plot in Grinnell alongside his beloved parents.

His daughter plans to erect a picnic table in his memory at Chatauqua [sic] Park in Storm Lake where he spent many happy hours playing as a child.
