Helen Hickey - Aug. 13, 1946 - June 18, 2001

Helen M. (Brill) Hickey, 54, died of cancer on Monday, June 18, 2001, at her home in Carlsbad, Calif. In accordance with Helen's wishes, the Morris family will gather at the family farm in Linn Grove the weekend of September 22.

She was born August 13, 1946, to Everett and Gwen Morris Brill in Connecticut. At the age of 15 months, after the death of her mother, she came to live with her grandparents, Lewis W. Morris, Sr., and Helen Morris at Linn Grove. She graduated from Sioux Valley High School in 1964 and was a member of Riverside Presbyterian Church in Linn Grove and Eastern Star.

Helen attended Drake University and Buena Vista College, after which she worked and lived in the Chicago area for approximately four years. Helen later settled and lived in Carlsbad, Calif., for more than 30 years. She was a Realtor and owned her own book-keeping business.

Helen was the niece of Charlotte and the late, Lewis W. Morris, Jr., the late Allan J. Morris, Beatrice Morris-Sonderegger and husband John Sonderegger as well as numerous cousins and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Harold Hickey, on February 20, 1983.

She is survived by her son, Christopher Hickey-Streeter; and former husband, Chris Streeter, of Florida.

Those who knew Helen remember her with fondness and laughter, we thank God for her life with us.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, September 22, 2001, at 1:00 p.m. in the Riverside Presbyterian Church at Linn Grove. A coffee and cookie reception to follow.
