James Hibbs - Oct. 26, 1947 - Sept. 18, 2001

James Edwin Hibbs, 53, passed away on September 18, 2001, at the Buena Vista Regional Medial Center.

James was born October 26, 1947, in Storm Lake to Edwin J. and Fidelis (Merrin) Hibbs. He was baptized at the Laurens Catholic Church and confirmed in the Fonda OLGC Catholic Church.

He attended the Fonda OLGC School. Jimmy worked for the Frankl Brothers Farms for ten years. In 1975 he and his brother, Jerry, went into partnership feeding hogs and cattle. He was also a volunteer at Genesis Development.

Jimmy was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Storm Lake. He enjoyed collecting hats.

He is survived by his parents, Edwin and Dae Hibbs of Storm Lake; brother, Jerry Hibbs, and sister, Gloria Hibbs, both of Storm Lake; several aunts and uncles; numerous cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and a sister, Jeanette Hibbs.

Funeral services will be Friday, September 21, 2001, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. Robert Schimmer officiating.

Interment will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Farber and Otteman Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
