Elva Marie Iosty, age 80, a long-time Alta resident, died suddenly on Monday, September 10, 2001, at her home in rural Alta.
Elva Marie Iosty was born March 1, 1921, in Moorhead, the daughter of Charles and Clela (Struble) Davis. She graduated from Salix High School.
On February 18, 1949, she married Lewis Arthur Iosty in Centerville, South Dakota. Elva was a homemaker and worked at Page's Bakery in Storm Lake. She also did housekeeping for several Storm Lake families. She was a member of the Jolly Crowd Club, was an excellent cook, loved to bake and enjoyed reading.
She was an active member of the Church of Christ of Latter Day Saints in Cherokee.
Her family includes her husband Lewis, Alta; two sons: Joseph and Suzette Occhibone, Sioux City, Dennis and Pamella Iosty, Storm Lake; three granddaughters: Angela Bino, Sioux City, Tamra and her husband Richard Bennett and Brenda and her husband Andrew Miller, all of Ida Grove; five great grandchildren: Jessica Bino, Robinson, Samuel and Caroline Miller and Keely Hare; a sister Lohre and Dick Fisher, Lamoni and a brother-in-law Harold Iosty, of Laurel, Mississippi.
Her parents preceded her in death.
At Mrs. Iosty's request there will be no funeral service. Her body has been cremated and interment will be at a later date. The Fratzke Funeral Home of Storm Lake assisted the family with arrangements.
