Marigene Fitzpatrick, 76, of Storm Lake, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2001, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City.

Marigene, the daughter of Martin and Margaret (Cahill) Thompson, was born Nov. 9, 1924, in Ayrshire. She received her education in the Emmetsburg schools.

On Sept. 27, 1945, she was united in marriage to Bob Fitzpatrick in Emmetsburg. The couple had four children, Sharon, John, Marty and James.

During World War II she was employed at the British Embassy in Washington, D.C. She then worked at Penney's, Sears, St. Mary's School and on the election board.

She was a member of Catholic Daughters, St. Mary's Guild and St. Mary's Quilters.

Mrs. Fitzpatrick enjoyed baking, playing golf and doing needlework. Her greatest love was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Bob in 1984; two brothers: Mike Thompson and Jim Thompson and three sisters: Sharon, Jeanette Hinichs and JoAnne Richardson.

Mrs. Fitzpatrick is survived by her four children and their spouses: Sharon and Galen Rupp of Marcus, John Fitzpatrick and Candy Clough of Storm Lake, Marty and DeMaris Fitzpatrick of Velva, N.D., and James and Rose Fitzpatrick of Omaha, Neb.

Funeral services for Mrs. Fitzpatrick will be held at 10 a.m. today, March 17, 2001, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Storm Lake with Father Robert J. Schimmer officiating.

Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery. Farber and Otteman Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
