George Wadsworth - Aug. 16, 1914 - Jan. 21, 2001

George Wadsworth, 86, of Cupertino, Calif., formerly of Alta, died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2001, at Olon Hospital in Santa Clara, Calif.

George Ernst, the son of Frank Walter and Olga Lucia (Penkwitt) Wadsworth, was born Aug. 16, 1914, in Alta.

Mr. Wadsworth proudly served in the United States Army from 1939 to 1959. During his time in the service he met his wife Valeriva D. Orlova. Following his discharge in the service, he worked for the federal government.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Wadsworth is survived by his wife; two sons: John Wadsworth and Robert Wadsworth; two daughters: Elizabeth Wadsworth and Georgette Troy and two grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Wadsworth were held Thursday, Feb. 1, 2001, at Barker Funeral Home in Alta. Dr. Robert Tollefson officiated at the 2 p.m. service.

Burial was in Storm Lake Cemetery with military rites conducted by Alta VFW Post No. 6172. The Barker Funeral Home of Alta was in charge of the arrangements.
