Marcella "Sally" Clouse - Jan. 22, 1925 - Apr. 28, 2010
Marcella "Sally" Clouse, age 85, of Sac City, Iowa, and formerly of Truesdale, Iowa, died April 28, 2010, at Park View Center in Sac City.
Marcella Louise Elliott, the daughter of Harrison H. and Louisa (Woods) Elliott, was born in Des Moines, Iowa, on January 22, 1925. Sally lived her youth and received her education in Des Moines and was a graduate of Des Moines East High School. She continued her education at Broadlawns School of Nursing where she received her degree as a registered nurse.
Sally was united in marriage to Theodore “Ted” Clouse on January 15, 1949, in Des Moines, Iowa, and they were blessed with three children: Teresa, John, and Kristie. Throughout their married lifetime, Sally and Ted lived in Newton, IA, Amarillo, TX, Des Moines, Spirit Lake, Emmetsburg, Newell, and Truesdale, Iowa. Prior to having a family, Sally practiced as a registered nurse and Ted was a photographer and a specialty salesman. Sally and Ted’s daughter, Kristie, needed special care and Sally was devoted in caring for Kristie in their home.
Very civic minded and when they lived in Newton, Sally held offices in the Order of Eastern Star and served as president of the Newton PTA. Sally’s apecial interests included sewing, reading, doing crafts, and crocheting.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Terry and Ken Gibson of Rockwell City, Iowa; John and Rosemary Clouse of Ruthven, Iowa; and Kristie Clouse of Sac City, Iowa; seven grandchildren: Danielle Clouse and fiancé Andy; Eric Clouse; Matt and Shelly White; Josh White and fiancé Miranda; Cara Ohrtman and fiancé Brandon; Christopher White-Gibson and Lia White-Gibson; great grandchildren: Destiny, Ava, Conner, Matt, Maddie and Mac; her brother, George Elliott; other extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and several brothers and sisters.
A visitation will take place on Friday, April 30, 2010, from 6-8:00 p.m. at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake, Iowa. Inurnment will be in the Newton Union Cemetery in Newton, Iowa, at a later date. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
