Obituary from the Iowa newspaper:

Services for Mildred Blount, 71, were held Wednesday morning, August 7, at the First United Church in Sioux Rapids with the Reverend Rodger McKinney officiating. Burial was in Lone Tree cemetery with the Sliefert Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Bearers were Roger Mickelson, Kenneth Hadenfeldt, Bob Hadenfeldt, Richard Mosbo, Craig Sachau and Clinton Sachau. Honorary bearers were Carolyn Glover, Ruby Cuthbert, Bernice Nowning, Ella Parson, Lola Moe and Ardyth Hadenfeldt.

Ruth Ann Mickelson was organist and vocalists were the Mickelson Brothers.

Mildred June Blount, daughter of Clyde and Laura Blount, was born on the family farm north of Sioux Rapids, Iowa, on June 3, 1914. She passed from this life at the Pleasant View Home in Albert City, on August 4, 1985, at the age of 71 years, two months and one day.

She received her education in the Cornell and Sioux Rapids schools, graduating with her class in 1932. She spent her entire life on the same farm, attending to the care of her parents until their deaths in 1960 and 1964.

She was baptized and became a member of the First Congregational church in Sioux Rapids at an early age. She was active in many departments of the church, serving on committees such as music, choir and quilting. She was a delegate to many U.C.C. annual conventions.

Mildred was known around the area for her exceptionally fine work on quilts, many of which were donated to the annual church bazaars.

She enjoyed touring various places in mainland United States, Alaska and Hawaii, as well as the Holy Land, Mexico and Canada.

Her pleasing personality and generous spirit endeared her to her many friends and relatives of all ages. She always had time to entertain her great-nieces and great-nephews.

Mildred is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Irene and Ward Gottschall; her niece and husband, Joanne and Curtis Sachau of Charter Oak, Iowa, and her niece, Gayla Lindsey of Sturgis, South Dakota. Other survivors include Craig, Christi and Clint Sachau, Dean, Tracie and Christopher Baldwin and Tonya Lindsey.

She was a member of the First United Church of Sioux Rapids, United Women's Fellowship, the Afternoon Circle, Woman's Study club and the Cornell Community club.
