Obituary from the Storm Lake Pilot dated Thursday, November 4, 1937: Final Rites Held for Business Man at Sioux Rapids

A large congregation of relatives and friends paid final tribute to J. W. Lauman as funeral services for the respected Sioux Rapids business man were held from the Congregational Church Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Lauman died Saturday evening following an extended illness. For the past 27 years he had been a prominent Sioux Rapids business man, conducting a clothing and cleaning establishment. He was born June 4, 1890 and spent practically his entire life here. He was educated in the Sioux Rapids schools and on June 15, 1916, married Miss Isa Clough. To them were born two children, Jeannette and James Jr. They, his wife and mother, Mrs. M. D. Lauman, are left to mourn his untimely death.
