Mrs. Brown passed away on Monday, Dec. 18, 2000, in Storm Lake.
Cynthia, the daughter of Edgar (Lee) and Bettie (Skewis) Ballou, was born on Jan. 23, 1942, in Storm Lake. She was baptized in 1942 at the Lakeside Presbyterian Church in Storm Lake. She grew up in Storm Lake and attended South school and later graduated from Storm Lake High School with the class of 1960.
Following high school, she attended Lindenwood College for one year. She then attended the University of Iowa for three years and later received her master's degree from the University of Tucson.
She was united in marriage to Jeffrey Brown at Lakeside Presbyterian Church in Storm Lake. They had one child, Elizabeth (Brown) Koster.
She worked as the head resident for the University of Wisconsin in Oshkosh. She enjoyed music, literature, geology and Southwest Indians culture.
Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband.
She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth, and her husband, Wayne Koster, of Storm Lake; her parents Lee and Bettie Ballou of Storm Lake; one sister Barb and her husband Dave Dvergsten of Storm Lake; two grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
