JoAnn Swanson - Aug. 31, 1937 - Nov. 11, 2000

JoAnn Fosmark Swanson, 63, of Redding, Calif., formerly of Rembrandt, passed away Saturday, Nov. 11, 2000, at the Redding Medical Center.

JoAnn, the daughter of Gerhard Olai and Vira (Spiegelberg) Fosmark, was born Aug. 31, 1937, in Rembrandt. She graduated from Rembrandt High School and attended Iowa State University in Ames, graduating from college in 1959.

On March 8, 1959, she was united in marriage to William Swanson at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Rembrandt.

Mrs. Swanson was a school teacher in Chester and Cottonwood, Calif. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Redding, Calif., and the California Teachers Association.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mrs. Swanson is survived by her husband Bill of Redding, Calif.; two daughters: Leslie Pointere and her husband Michael of Redding and Valerie Cooper and her husband Steven of Murrieta, Calif.; four grandchildren and one sister, Janet Gibson of Gilbert, Ariz.

Funeral services for Mrs. Swanson were held Friday, Nov. 17, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Rembrandt. Rev. Durwood Clauson officiated at the 1:30 p.m. service.

Burial was in Little Sioux Valley Cemetery in rural Rembrandt. Fratzke Funeral Home of Storm Lake was in charge of the arrangements.
