Lois E. Movall - June 12, 1915 - May 31, 2007
Lois E. Movall, age 91, of Storm Lake and lifelong resident of Buena Vista County, Iowa, died Thursday, May 31, 2007, at Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake.
Lois Elizabeth Iverson, the daughter of Alfred and May (Peterson) Iverson, was born on June 12, 1915, in Alta, Iowa. She was baptized into the Christian faith at Elk Baptist Church in rural Alta on October 28, 1928, by Reverend N. C. Berg. She grew up on a farm north of Alta known as the Garberson place. Lois graduated from high school with the Class of 1934 from Fairview Consolidated School in rural Alta.
On September 5, 1944, Lois married Frank Movall in Storm Lake. The couple was blessed with two sons: Edward Iverson and Keith Everett.
Lois loved her Lord and was active member in several churches over the course of her life. She became a member of the First Congregational Church in Newell, Iowa, in 1950 where she served on the deaconry, taught Sunday School and enjoyed her membership in the Ladies Aid. She transferred her membership to the Lakeside Presbyterian Church in Storm Lake in 1983 where she was a deacon, member of the Lakeside Presbyterian Women and served on the worship commission.
Lois belonged to the Newell Married Meeters and the Delphian Club of Storm Lake. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and at the coffee shop at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center.
Lois loved to be around people, but her greatest love was her family, especially her grandchildren.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank; brother Everett and his wife Elizabeth Iverson; sister Margaret and her husband John Mohr; brothers-in-law: Richard Carlson, Raymond Movall, Verner Movall, and Evert Danielson; sisters-in-law: Mildred and husband Alvin Peterson and Dorothy and husband Herb Anderson.
Left to mourn her passing are her son, Ed and wife Chris of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; son Keith and wife Betty of Newell; grandchildren: Jon (Jenny) Schapekahm, Amanda (Cliff) Perez, Emily (Dave) Burrows, Matthew and Michael Movall; step-grandsons: Jeff (Angela) Johnston and Adam Allgood; great-grandchildren: Anna Schapekahm, Jacob and Michael Perez, and Jack Burrows; sister Mildred Carlson of Newell; sisters-in-law Arlene Movall, Ruby Danielson, Barbara Movall and Gladys and husband Don Heinecke; brother-in-law Clarence and wife Wanette Movall; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Movall will be held Monday, June 4, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. at the Lakeside Presbyterian Church in Storm Lake with Reverend Duane Queen officiating. Burial will be in the Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery in Storm Lake. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
Friends may call during visitation hours on Sunday, June 3, 2007, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorials be directed to Lakeside Presbyterian Church or the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center Foundation, both in Storm Lake.
