Lucille M. Dannenberg - July 18, 1916 - June 18, 2007

Lucille M. Dannenberg, age 90, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died Monday, June 18, 2007, at the Methodist Manor in Storm Lake.

Lucille Magdalene Miller was born July 18, 1916, in Storm Lake, Iowa, to Henry and Ida (Whitmer) Miller. She was a life long member of St. John Lutheran Church, receiving her baptism on August 6, 1916, and confirmation on June 23, 1929. She attended and later graduated from Storm Lake High School.

On December 28, 1944, Lucille was married to Melvin Dannenberg in Storm Lake, Iowa. This union was blessed with a daughter, Candace. Lucille and Mel lived on their farm south of Storm Lake. Lucille maintained her tax preparation office in downtown Storm Lake until Mel’s retirement and their move to town. At that time, Lucille established her business at home.

Among Lucille’s greatest pleasures was spending time with her friends. She was a member of Wa-Tan-Ye business women’s club where she worked at various projects alongside dear friends. Lucille was a member of several card groups and enjoyed many hours of card games with her family and friends over the years. Creating beautiful greeting cards was another hobby of Lucille’s as she used her computer and all sorts of supplies to hand-paint and decorate each and every card.

Her pet cat, Dusty, was her constant companion and source of joy.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Candace Madich and husband Robert of Omaha, Nebraska; one sister, Shirley Fliess of Las Vegas, Nevada; several nieces and many friends.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Melvin; her brother, Henry Miller and sister-in-law, Alice Miller; and brother-in-law, John Fliess.

Funeral Services will be held onFriday, June 22, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Storm Lake. Burial will be in Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery in Storm Lake.

Friends may call for visitation on Thursday, June 21, 2007, from 6-8:00 pm at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake.
