Manuel Tapia Godino, age 59, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died April 6, 2010, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa.
Manuel Tapia Godino was born on January 10, 1951, in Pastor Ortiz, Michoachan, Mexico, to Antonio Tapia and Adela Godino. He was baptized and confirmed as an infant in San Martin, Michoacan, Mexico.
In 1971, Manuel was united in marriage to Maria Eloisa Lara in San Martin. Together they were blessed with seven children: Antonio, Victor, Claudia, Jose Luis, Maria Guadalupe, Jesus, and Juan.
Manuel loved to grill and have family parties. He was very friendly with everyone and had many friends. He loved visiting the West Bend Grotto. Manuel’s favorite food was Chinese and when he was not eating out, he enjoyed cooking. Manuel treasured going out with his wife and being with his children and grandchildren.
Those left to cherish his memory include his father, Antonio Tapia; his wife, Maria Eloisa Lara of Storm Lake, Iowa; his children: Antonio of Storm Lake; Victor of Storm Lake; Claudia of Mexico; Jose Luis of Mexico; Maria Guadalupe, Jesus, and Juan all of Storm Lake; his grandchildren: Ivette, Emily, Antonio, Ricardo, Leticia, Victor Armando, Elizabeth, Diego, Pablo, Jesus, Cecilia, Manuel, Luis, Cesar, Alejaudro, Jorge, Miguel Angel, Angel, Claudia; his brothers: Francisco of Mexico and Jorge of Idaho; his sisters: Juana, Guadalupe, Lucia, Josefina, Gudelia of Mexico, Maria of Idaho and Leonor of California; extended family and friends.
Manuel was preceded in death by his mother, Adela Godino; his grandfather, Jesus Tapia; his grandmother, Trina Lara; and his nephew, Jose.
Visitation: 4-6:30 p.m. April 09, 2010 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Storm Lake, Iowa

En 1971, Manuel fue unido en matrimonio a María Eloísa Lara en San Martin. Juntos fueron bendecidos con siete hijos: Antonio, Victor, Claudia, Jose Luis, María Guadalupe, Jesus, y Juan.
A Manuel le encantaba hacer parrilladas y tener convivios familiares. El era una persona muy alegre y amigable con todos y tenía muchas amistades. A él le gustaba ir a visitar la Iglesia de piedras en West Bend. La comida favorita de Manuel era la comida China y cuando no salía a comer fuera, le fascinaba cocinar en casa. Manuel apreciaba salir a pasear con su esposa y estar con sus hijos y nietos.

Manuel fue precedido en la muerte por su madre, Adela Godino; su abuelo, Jesus Tapia; su bisabuela, Trina Lara; y su sobrino, Jose Tapia.
