Iva D. Lange - Jan. 31, 1916 - Jan. 24, 2007

Iva D. Lange, age 90, of Albert City, Iowa, died Wednesday, January 24, 2007, at Pleasant View Home in Albert City.

Iva D. Harald, the daughter of Marcus and Alma (Ponsar) Harald, was born at Albert City, Iowa, on January 31, 1916. Iva lived her youth in the Albert City area and received her education in the Albert City school, graduating from the Albert City High School.

She was united in marriage to Gordon Lange on March 27, 1940, at the church parsonage at Albert City. This union was blessed with two children: John and Joanne.

Gordon and Iva were engaged in farming near Albert City throughout their married lifetime. They enjoyed 28 years of marriage together. Gordon died in May of 1968. In 1969, Iva moved into the town of Albert City where she was employed for many years at the local flower shop. For the past 10 years, Iva has resided at the Pleasant View Home in Albert City.

Iva was a lifelong, faithful member of the Our Savior Lutheran Church in Albert City. She also enjoyed membership in several neighborhood clubs and a couple of card clubs while her health permitted. Iva will be remembered for the special interest she took in baking, handwork and sewing for her family. She enjoyed traveling, especially bus tours with her friends.

Those who will always cherish her memory include her children: John and Twila Lange of Albert City, Iowa, and Joanne and Don Richardson of Webster City, Iowa; her four grandchildren: Jamie (Kevin) Lindquist, Jeff (Allie) Emery, Mathew (Stephanie) Emery, and Melanie Lange and fiancée, Travis Krause; her seven great grandchildren: Kaleb, Ethan, and Tanner Lindquist, and Tori, Mitchell, Gabriel, and Wyatt Emery; a brother, Raymond Harald of Springfield, Missouri; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Iva was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gordon; and her sister, Amy Schultze.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Lange will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 29, 2007, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Albert City with Pastor David Bernhardt officiating. Interment will be in Fairfield Township Cemetery at Albert City.

Visitation with the family present will be held on Sunday, January 28, 2007, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Sliefert Funeral Home in Albert City.
